To further develop TI’s climate governance programme objectives and an attendant results-based framework, TI is organising a Climate Governance Workshop: Mapping governance risks, stakeholder interventions, and future actions, to be held in Berlin from 12-14 June 2010. The workshop aims to scope out current and foreseen corruption and governance risks to be addressed in the governance of climate financing and MRV processes. It will take stock of stakeholder interventions to address those risks, and develop coordinated strategies or actions to contribute to improving: - transparency,
- accountability,
- anti-corruption,
- public participation and
- public oversight in climate governance.
The Workshop invites contributions to our programme development, and offers opportunities to support the work of other stakeholders through our expertise in promoting civil society anti-corruption work globally. These objectives reflect TI’s commitment to work with key stakeholders to address priority climate governance issues and to support desired human and environmental benefits and safeguards enshrined in global agreements and declarations. The Workshop aims to attract approximately 50 participants from a wide range of representatives including representatives from bilateral climate finance agencies, intergovernmental institutions, private sector and civil society think tanks and non-governmental organisations and academia to participate in this working meeting. |
