When it comes to contributing to the global fight against corruption, the UK has been criticised as 'lagging behind' and 'lacking political will' according to a recent report by Transparency International. So far there has been zero corruption cases filed since the UK entered the OECD convention nearly 10 years ago. However, recent international regulatory pressure and a change in leadership at the SFO is likely to mean a significant change in pace. This move has not come too soon judging from a 2008 PricewaterhouseCoopers study which found that corruption has affected business dealings amongst almost two thirds of senior executives globally. More and more the challenge to beat corruption is matched with an increasing pressure to conform. As the spotlight intensifies and the cost of corruption rises - why risk your company's corporate reputation? Attend the UK Anti-corruption Summit 2009 and engage in debate led by senior experts in the field. Topics covered will include, among others: - The business case for anti-corruption
- Anti-corruption and compliance in UK business: Assessing the state of play
- Understanding the legal framework
- International standards of codes
